Hektik (Hector Vargas),was born in 1988 on the island of Puerto Rico. The half Puerto Rican, half Peruvian emcee left his homeland at the age of two to embark on a lifelong struggle from state to state. Starting in Paterson, New Jersey for a short two years, his mother moved them away with her family to Junction City, Kansas where Hektik was raised his entire elementary years. His father followed shortly after, discovering his struggle with alcoholism and domestic violence. Hektik was ahead of his class and a church going boy, despite the issues at his home and being well under the poverty line. Living in such conditions however, slowed his progress in school down and the problems would start showing through his work. Hektik found his escape through joining band and playing instruments for church which he found to be an underlying love of his. His mother and father, however, would not be able to keep up their relationship resulting in Hektik's mother moving them yet again to a small village in Wisconsin called Norwalk. Being more free to do what he pleased, Hektik was around his older brother and cousins who were all into Hip Hop and would constantly be the life of the party with their rugged freestyles.Starting with freestyles of his own, Hektik quickly found his true love in the form of Hip Hop. Though he loved music and was an active honors band member, he found himself stuck in the same poverty that haunted his entire life. Experimenting with drugs and drinking was a newfound escape for the young emcee. The problems persisted and Hektik was forced to move yet once again landing him in Augusta, GA. With his older brother serving a three year sentence in a Kansas penitentiary, Hektik was now the man of the house and had to provide for his family which led to him hustling to survive. As he fine tuned his flows, Hektik was found by a local record label by the name of La Cartier Records. Internal problems led Hektik to leave the label and pursue a new route to the rap game. Unfortunately his mother could not maintain and decided to move back to Puerto Rico when Hektik refused to leave and decided to stay and struggle for himself at the age of 15. He then moved from state to state living in South Carolina, North Carolina and Florida then eventually ended up in Wisconsin again. Being blessed with a chance to graduate high school through an alternative program, Hektik attended school in the pursuit of the one thing no one else in his family had attained, a high school diploma. This is where Hektik was connected with his now best friend, Bad Newz. Bad Newz had created his own rap group, Street Team, and was actively driving to the city of Milwaukee on the weekends to record his music. He tagged along and found himself becoming a part of there circle and held his own on the microphone. After graduating high school Hektik found himself in an altercation with some of his pupils and blindly fell into a year long feud with them resulting in him being charged with felonies and landing him in a cell. Staying in contact with Bad Newz, Hektik was released and immediately moved closer to him in Milwaukee, WI. While in Milwaukee, Hektik made himself relevant and one of the greats through his well thought out, yet poverty based lyrics while recruiting new members to Street Team. In the winter of 2009 Hektik was given all control of the group. Reconnecting with his cousin, Big Six, they started performing at local open mics and would pay for time at events along with adding the infamous Inc. to the Street Team name. It was then that Hektik had found a newfound passion as he was declared as one of the best performers in the city. Soon they would come to learn the ways of the game in Milwaukee being a very cut throat and pay up front industry. As time went on, Hektik along with his cousin, Big Six, tore down stages and made a solid name and image of streets and truthful lyrics in the city. They seperated shortly after and went there own paths while closely collaborating until this day. Hektik is now on the path to success and respect in the rap game through his non-fiction based lyrics and is not slowing down for anyone. He continues building Street Team Inc. as being the C.E.O and puts his faith in each artist on the roster. Mixing all this pain and struggle with the facts of life and adding the party lifestyle of the newer generation, Hektik is sure to be an impact on the rap game in a positive, factual way.
